Overview:
Artificial intelligence is one of the most transformational forces of our time, yet the industry shaping it continues to be marked by stark representation gaps. Women and individuals from historically marginalised groups remain significantly underrepresented in leadership roles within AI research, development, governance, and policy-making.
As AI capabilities accelerate, the decisions made today will shape societal norms, access to opportunity, and the future of work for generations. This roundtable explores how we can ensure that women and underrepresented voices are not just present but central in shaping this future. How can we break down barriers for women and minority leaders in AI? What role can corporate sponsors and networks play in accelerating change? How can ethical AI development be guided by inclusive leadership? What success stories and frameworks are already making an impact?
Following the panel, participants will break into curated roundtable discussions to explore tangible next steps for advocacy, visibility, mentorship, and leadership acceleration. A collaborative environment will be fostered through Chatham House Rule to allow for open and candid dialogue over lunch.
The Financial Times, in collaboration with Women in AI, is proud to convene this critical conversation at the heart of our AI Summit, offering an opportunity to connect, reflect, and build pathways toward a more inclusive AI future.
